About 20 years ago I got know Ramón Larramendi, we found eachother in forums, conferences and in the adventure and expeditionary world.
Ramón Larramendi is the Spanish with more experience in polar expeditions, has traveled more than 20,000 kilometers of navigation on the ice. He is a phenomenon. Loves to reach the limit and explore new places, reaching them on foot, in the wind, and on sleds. And sometimes in new sleds that he designs himself, like that sailing catamaran he designed and that he has brought so many adventures and so many adventures he has told the public that we follow him.
Half-lives in Greenland although he spends seasons in Madrid. Well, now Ramón surprises us again because he is one of the components and I believe, the leader, of the international team of expedition members, who will begin another spectacular trip on May 1st. For this time Ramón prepares another main course and extremes as we are accustomed to eye on the data because, for this time, the First Circumnavigation of Greenland is a route of 5,000 kilometers through its frozen interior desert. Yes, 5,000 Kms on a catamaran pulled by a sail. Something that some have done with dog sleds and it took more than a year.
The team will consist of Ramon Larramendi, Manuel Olivera, Eusebio Beamonte, the Danish Karin Moe Bojsen, and Greenlandic Hugo Svensson. But the team does not end there. For this type of project, the figure of a coordinator is necessary, in this case from Spain, and this work will be done by Juan Manuel Viu -the head of the Antarctic base Juan Carlos I in the years 2008-2009 and Javier Selva.
Com always, Ramón will try to beat several records: From here we congratulate the whole team for their daring in this project.
