Our company, Dreams & Adventures, was born as a result of a dream. A dream turned into a project, the “Transcovery Project”, and then, in a reality that appears in a book of records: the return to the world, by 120 countries, in more than 131 forms of transport and innumerable challenges of Andreu Mateu.

Dreams & Adventures was born in 1995. And it was born after a unique expedition around the world. We have been motivating and inspiring human teams of the most important companies in the world for more than 20 years. We have organized more than 2,000 projects for the most important companies in the world.

But how did all this start?

Dreams & Adventures is the continuation to the dream of a man, Andreu Mateu, who for more than three years explored his own limits, going around the world, passing through 120 countries in more than 130 different means of moving forward. How can someone embark on this adventure?

After five years of work experience in New York, Andreu, a graduate in Business Sciences and a Master in Business Administration, and who was working at the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in New York, one day, after a crisis personal by overwork and commitments, I became aware that it was time to change his life. He disconnected the telephone from his house and dedicated himself to reflect. He had to plan his future and, for that, inspired by several books, but above all by a title: “How to do what you really want to do”, decided to draw up a list of dreams. He faced a blank paper. And for more than two weeks he worked several hours a day to enumerate his dreams: fly through the air, sail through the oceans, dive into the depths of the seas, cross deserts, climb mountains, explore the world, know their countries, its people and its culture, etc.

Working on this list of dreams and prioritizing them according to their importance, he realized that the common denominator of all of them was: a) knowing our planet and b) using the different ways of traveling that existed for him. But there was something else that motivated him: a need to test himself and see what he was capable of. And so he came up with the idea of ​​doing an expedition around the world with three objectives:

1. Go through the maximum number of countries.
2. Use all possible forms of transport
3. Overcome along the way a series of challenges to test yourself and explore your own limits.

A few weeks later, Andreu decided to leave his job in the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in New York, sell everything and realize that dream that already had a name: “The Transcovery Project”.

On August 11, 1992, Andreu Mateu put on a pair of skates and began to put on the world as a cap.

During the three years and two months he was traveling, his office was the world and his work tools: a video camera, two cameras to photograph and a small laptop that he carried in his backpack. With this scarce team, Andreu began an adventure that led him to risk his life several times.

Crossing the Strait of Gibraltar by swimming, the Atlantic alone on board a small nine-meter sailboat, crossing Europe by bicycle and touring Africa on a motorcycle are just some examples of the many challenges he decided to face, in the end, overcome its initial objective and travel 120 countries around the world in more than 130 different forms of transport.

In October of 1995, he returned to Spain with more than 12,000 photographs and 170 hours of video footage. While organizing all this material for his motivational conferences, travel articles, and a radio program, the prestigious international consultancy Coopers & Lybrand commissioned him to organize an Outdoor motivation program for one of his clients: Telefónica. That first assignment never went ahead but served as a trigger to discover a need in the market to be able to provide solutions and, with their experience, a certain value.

Aware of how beneficial it had been for him to have realized his dreams and adventures by putting himself to the test, aware that without a support team he would not have achieved anything he achieved, he was passionate about the idea of ​​power share and transmit their experiences, their dreams and their way of making them real to the business world.

Andreu decided to devote the rest of his life to divulge the benefits that a certain mentality, as well as some challenges and outdoor adventures, can have on people and organizations. And so was born what is now one of the most important Team Building companies in Spain: Dreams & Adventures.
