The challenges, adventure, and certain experiences can create a team (Team Building)
Think for a moment of an acquaintance of yours. Someone whom you know but that you don’t consider to be your friend. Now, imagine for a moment that you decide to take a joint trip. A simple trip of 100 km. together in the same vehicle. Now answer: after spending an hour together, to reach the destination do you think that friendship with this person will be improved? Do you know him a little better? If you are a normal person, the answer is: Yes. Now we know more, we have had time to talk, we know each other better, and we feel closer to each other.
Now imagine that you had a mishap during this trip, you have a breakdown and to the situation, you have to work together to change a flat tire and thanks to the ideas of one and the other, at the end you got it and you can resume the march and successfully reach your destination.
Do you think the fact of having overcome a challenge from that day will make you feel more united? The answer is yes. Now imagine that once you have overcome the problem of puncture, after a while, the vehicle is stopped in the middle of the road, and you discover that there is a problem, well, between the two you can overcome it.
1st Conclusion:
“When you take a group of people, and you challenge them, once they get over it they will become people together.”
Imagine now another situation, it has been done at night, and you are lost, you can’t find the hotel, you’ve been several hours wandering around and there is no gasoline, you suspect that at any time the car you can leave lying there in the middle of nowhere and you are going to have to spend the night in the car, because at that hour, no one you could ask for help is going to come. You pass some fear, you are in a very uncomfortable situation, but decide to keep looking, and finally, after much effort, you successfully reach the destination. Together you pass through a situation of uncertain output, an adventure and, ultimately, achieve success. Can you even imagine how you will feel the next week when you meet and remember the story and adventure experienced by both of you? Can you visualize that you will feel much more united than before? I do because I have lived it many times.
2nd Conclusion:
“When two or more people live an adventure out of the ordinary that involves some tension, fear, uncertainty (adventure) and manage to overcome this adventure successfully thanks to teamwork, this leads to creating a degree of proximity between them and a feeling like a team.
Imagine now that you get together with a group of people and decide to live the experience of a balloon ride. You get to the airfield with some emotion, fear, and desire. None of you has ever flown in a balloon. So, you go up to the basket, and slowly, the balloon is taking height and in a smooth manner it feels like the floor is getting smaller and wider. Suddenly you find yourself at 1,500 feet, the scenery is fantastic, they are all excited … skip the first laughter, shouting, exclamation, reflections … After 45 minutes flying over a beautiful place, comes the adventure of landing. The balloon is not dirigible, the pilot only controls the height but not to where it goes, where will you will go to stop? Finally, you land. It has been an exciting day… Can you imagine, how you will greet any of the people who shared the experience with you when you come across them a few days, weeks or months later?
3rd Conclusion:
Sharing a different and exciting experience with someone gives you a sense of fellowship and that makes you feel closer to them. You have lived a fantastic thing in common and therefore there is a greater degree of complicity between the two of you.
