HOW TO BE HAPPY WITHOUT DEPENDING ON OTHERS …
Fuck the culture of success!
The world is full of people trying to figure out how to be happy. And, often, humans think that happiness is in success. I think that success is a worse drug than heroin. Something like an artificial happiness that normally takes you to “bread for today, hunger for tomorrow”, or something like fast-acting sugar in the blood, which gives you energy in the short term but that leads to diabetes and, in the long run, serious health problems. And that success is harmful, fundamentally, because success implies the recognition of others. And that is not always controllable, it is ephemeral, it is addictive, it is irrational, it is senseless, it is oppressive, it can be out of control, it can unbalance you, it can be lost overnight and can lead you to madness, to disorders of bipolarity or even suicide … Are you going to leave your happiness in the hands of others?
See how many of the great singers have ended up like, for example, Kurt Cobain, the singer of Nirvana or Amy Winehouse. Or look at great athletes like Maradona. Do you want to learn to be happy? Do you know how to be happy? Well, to begin with, send that culture of success that we have been taught the fuck off.
To be happy, what you have to have is good moral values, be consistent with them or what would be aligned between what you think, what you say and what you do, have a good self-esteem and, very importantly, be involved in Some project or dream that contributes something to others, contributes a lot to yourself and has you totally entertained, intellectually stimulated and totally enthusiastic.
Summarized in points, here are the points that I think are important to remember and learn how to be happy:
1.- Get out of your head and send the culture of success in which your happiness depends on others the fuck off.
2.- Harvest and have good moral values (love, friendship, solidarity, effort, respect etc …)
3.- Be consistent with these values. Live with and for them. They are your flag.
3 .- Try to have the best possible harmony between what you think, what you say and what you do. Be authentic.
4.- Have a good self-esteem. A high concept of yourself. And that is achieved fundamentally by being faithful to the previous points. With those four points, you have the pillars. But that is not enough.
5.- Involve yourself in a project that contributes something to others and yourself. That will fill you enormously. What are your dreams? Are they noble dreams? Are you going after them?
6.- Concentrate and enjoy to the maximum that project that has you totally entertained, intellectually stimulated and totally enthusiastic. That is your source of happiness. Do not abandon it.
Has it ever happened to you that you have been totally focused on something that you are doing, that you are passionate, and you forget that you have to eat or even sleep? … If it happens to you often it is because surely you have that project that has you excited. You are pursuing your dream. If you do not have it, look inside yourself for what you are passionate about and start doing it. I hope you find it and do not have to think about how to be happy. Because if you find it you will not need it anymore. You will be too busy thinking about your project. And what about “how to be happy” you will not even consider it.
