Team coaching
In recent years, there has been a real boom in coaching both at a personal and business level. Coaching, as its Anglo-Saxon name indicates, aims, through the figure of the coach, to train a person or team with the purpose of fulfilling a goal or developing specific skills.
There are many forms of coaching, and one of the most widespread is individual coaching, in which the coach works hand in hand with just one person. However, there is a coaching modality called team coaching. Team coaching is currently positioning itself as an excellent way to improve teamwork and joint work in companies and organizations.
Thus, in the same way, that individual coaching manages to improve the skills and achievement of objectives of an individual in question, team coaching aims to work the skills of the group as a whole.
Teams are a key part of the work environment, often as necessary and essential as the individuals themselves. Team coaching, with the figure of the coach, should support and guide the team and teach the correct tools to meet the objectives set by your group or organization.
What is team coaching and what is it used for?
Team coaching works on the relationships established between the members of a team and is defined as the direct interaction of the coach with the team. The purpose is that its members manage to make full use of collective resources, always with the vision of achieving the specific objective mentioned above.
Team coaching helps people develop their ability to work as a team, showing ways to manage conflict and improve their working relationships. In team coaching, the coach should focus on the interactions of the team members, the way they act with each other, and the ways they have to communicate.
What relationships are established between team members? Is the equipment working correctly as a system? Does the team work around the same philosophy? These are some questions that should be asked in team coaching; the answers will determine the measures that the coach will take during the session or coaching sessions.
Keys to team coaching
The keys to team coaching are many, but here we summarize the main ones:
– Team coaching helps individuals understand how to work better with other people and reach their goals by working as a team.
– Team coaching improves conflict resolution processes and work relationships.
– Team coaching focuses on interpersonal skills and interactions, unlike individual coaching, which focuses on the person.
– A correct team coaching process should be able to assess the personality and behavior of each person within the group.
Outdoor training and team coaching
The Outdoor Training sessions are often linked to team coaching, team building, and outdoor activities. These sessions, like the team coaching, are designed especially for small groups of managers and are based on an “outdoor” training activity that includes analysis sessions that participants can use to improve the team’s effectiveness.
Outdoor training courses should be designed according to each group or organization and will be oriented to different facets of teamwork: conflict resolution, decision making, communication improvement, etc. In an Outdoor training session, the participants will live an authentic intensive teamwork experience to overcome the tests and challenges set and reach the final goal.
An ideal team is a team that performs and in which its members communicate clearly and effectively, are clear about their roles and are focused on a common goal.
Dreams & Adventures outdoor training contains part of the disciplines of team coaching and fuses them with outdoor activities, thus motivating the group in a relaxed and collaborative environment. We like to take team coaching one step further, offering a unique, dynamic and exciting activity, in which each participant can reflect and learn how to improve, but always in a natural and lasting way. “Experiential” learning is one of the pillars of our “Outdoor training” sessions.
